You'll love it especially if you're a UX researcher and you've experienced that in practice, things don't always go according to plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you've resolved to read more UX reference books in the new year, I highly recommend this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Content: Essays, Essays, Essays ...<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The book consists of several short essays (around 6 pages) that deal with various practical issues - from planning to evaluating UX research. It also looks at how to embed UX Research in your own team and gives tips for a successful career in this field. At the end of each essay, you'll find smart open-ended questions to get you thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than offering a how-to guide for UX research, the essays provide helpful food for thought on real-world challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To give you an idea of the book's contents, here are my five favorite essays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Think like a Detective: <\/strong>An interesting comparison between UX Researchers and Detectives<\/li><li><strong>Defining your UX Research Problem:<\/strong> Four techniques to improve your research question<\/li><li><strong>Arguments Against a Representative Sample: <\/strong>Why it is often not possible and also not necessary to test with a representative sample<\/li><li><strong>How to Find More Usability Problems with Fewer Participants: <\/strong>An explanation what it really means if you conduct Usability Tests with \"only\" five participants <\/li><li><strong>The Reflective UX Researcher<\/strong>: Tips how to improve skills by continuous reflection<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Target Group<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The book is primarily aimed at UX researchers with experience. They will certainly recognize some of the challenges they face in practice. The authors are absolute experts in their field, know typical pitfalls and give very good tips in the area of conflict between theory and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
